Every year, Dung Quat economic zone receives and exports goods to the market with an output of about 15 million tons of products/year, meeting the export and import demand of goods in the Central region with the main products being: crude oil, heavy industrial equipment and woodchips… Dung Quat port achieved a large volume of ships in terms of scale and number of ships entering and leaving the country, just behind Saigon, Vung Tau, Hai Phong, and Quang Ninh ports and ranked first. central region.

In the coming time, Dung Quat Port No.2 is planned with an area of ​​1,500 hectares of sea surface adjacent to the shores of Binh Chau and Binh Phu communes (Binh Son district), with a depth of 24m, a length of road along the bay of 9 km, capable of meeting suitable for ships of large tonnage from 250,000 to 300,000 tons…, making an important contribution to further speeding up the socio-economic development of Quang Ngai, becoming a driving force for key economic zone of central region.
